How This Calculator Works

The batch audio processor applies a single effect to a whole folder of audio files at once, then packages the results into a ZIP for download. Choose one effect — normalize (loudness), noise reduction, compressor, fade in/out, speed up, or slow down — pick an output format, add your files, and process. It's built for consistency: podcast seasons, sample libraries, and voice-memo cleanup where every file needs the same treatment so output plays back uniformly. All processing runs locally in your browser with ffmpeg.wasm, so nothing is uploaded.

The Mathematical Formula & Logic

For N input files, the processor produces N output files — one per input — applying the same ffmpeg filter chain to each.

Loudness normalization targets EBU R128 (around −23 LUFS).

Total time ≈ N × per-file processing time; all output is bundled into a single uncompressed ZIP.

Worked Step-by-Step Example

Ten podcast episodes normalized to MP3: select Normalize (Loudness), set output to MP3, add the 10 files, and process. Each episode is loudness-matched to roughly −23 LUFS and re-encoded to MP3, then all 10 are bundled into one ZIP you download and distribute. Every episode plays at a consistent volume for listeners.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. All processing runs locally in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm. Your files never leave your device — they're decoded, processed, and packaged into the ZIP entirely client-side.

Normalize (Loudness) is the best default for podcasts — it standardizes volume across episodes using the EBU R128 target so listeners don't have to adjust volume between files. Noise Reduction is better if your recordings have background hiss or hum.

Yes. Pick an output format (MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, or FLAC) before processing and every file in the batch is converted to that format in the output ZIP. You can't mix formats within one batch — run a second batch with a different format if needed.
